Friday, September 25: a cycling route through the city and its surroundings to discover new places, meet fellow participants and reflect on sustainable mobility.
Start the academic year by cycling together, meeting new classmates and discovering Cremona from a different perspective.
On Friday, September 25, the Politecnico di Milano – Cremona Campus is organising a cycling route dedicated to sustainable mobility, discovering the local area and fostering social interaction.
The event is organised in collaboration with the University's Environmental Sustainability Office and Mobility Manager, AEM, A2A and FIAB, under the patronage of the Municipality of Cremona.
As part of the initiatives organised for the 2026 European Mobility Week, taking place from September 16 to 22, the event is primarily addressed to the Campus community, with a particular focus on first-year students.
More than just a bike ride
The initiative is an opportunity to meet and connect at the beginning of the new academic year: an informal and engaging way to become part of the university community, make new connections and discover the local area while cycling together.
It will also offer participants the chance to enjoy an outdoor experience and become familiar with the city where they will spend their university years.
The event is also designed for students coming from other cities and international students, who will have the opportunity to discover the environmental, infrastructural, historical and cultural features of Cremona and its surrounding area while building new relationships within the Campus community.
Three stops to explore the environment, urban transformation and cultural heritage
The route will run through the urban area of Cremona and the Municipality of Malagnino, alternating between cycle paths, local roads and routes of historical and scenic interest.
The itinerary includes three stops with educational, environmental and cultural value.

Polo Territoriale di Cremona - Via Massarotti 21/C
Former Cavo Cerca Area
Visit to the area currently undergoing an urban and environmental regeneration programme near the city stadium, in Via dell'Annona.
Malagnino Landfill Site
An insight into a complex environmental infrastructure, focusing on the planning, technological and management aspects of the post-operational phase and its integration into the surrounding landscape.
Church of San Sigismondo
Visit to the Renaissance monumental complex, a testimony to the area's history, artistic heritage and cultural identity.
Arrival
Polo Territoriale di Cremona - Via Massarotti 21/C
Within the urban section, the route will follow the city's cycling network and selected stretches of local roads, allowing participants to observe existing mobility infrastructure firsthand. The connection to Malagnino will follow the historic Antica Via Postumia cycle path and sections of extra-urban roads, crossing a landscape where sustainable mobility, infrastructure and local heritage come together.
Registration
Registration for the event is free.
The event is limited to 50 participants to ensure a safe, enjoyable and engaging experience. Forty places are reserved for students, while ten places are open to members of the local community, encouraging interaction between the University and the local area.
The registration form will be available between the end of August and the beginning of September.
In the event of adverse weather conditions, the initiative will be postponed to Tuesday, September 29.
