New Campus “Città di Cremona”: now a reality, relocation in progress
To mark the completion of the renovation and repurposing works of the former Manfredini Barracks, a final site visit took place at the new Campus “Città di Cremona” of the Politecnico di Milano by the signatories of the memorandum of understanding signed in 2021.
Fondazione Arvedi Buschini led the redevelopment of the entire complex in collaboration with the Agenzia del Demanio (owner of the building), the Politecnico di Milano, the Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, the Ministry of the Interior, the Prefecture of Cremona, and both the Municipality and the Province of Cremona. The architectural design was curated by architect Andrea Carcereri of Studio Coprat.
Welcoming the authorities at the new Campus were Cavalier Giovanni Arvedi, President of the Fondazione Arvedi Buschini, and Donatella Sciuto, Rector of the Politecnico di Milano. During the visit, the upcoming developments for the Campus were presented: the launch of a new Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Systems Engineering, taught entirely in English and starting in September 2026; the expansion of student services, including university housing; and a stronger role for the Cremona Campus within the broader University framework.
