A Campus surrounded by greenery
The Città di Cremona Campus features extensive green spaces. More than 9,000 m2 dedicated to parks and open-air areas, amounting to approximately 30 per cent of the space.
To create a welcoming and stimulating environment, ideal for studying, relaxing and socialising, more than 60 new trees have been planted, in harmony with the existing greenery.
Clean energy, energy efficiency and circular economy
Building 04 houses a 200-kW photovoltaic system, which can meet classroom energy needs.
Heating is provided by all-electric systems, powered by heat pumps that eliminate the use of gas which significantly reduce emissions.
The historic buildings of the former barracks have been upgraded with solutions compatible with architectural constraints, such as thermal coats to improve their energy efficiency.
Under circular economy principles, the Campus rooms have been furnished by reusing furniture, shelves, desks and books which are already part of Politecnico’s assets. A conscious choice that combines sustainability, functionality and quality, reducing waste and the use of new resources.
The Bioenergy Factory
Continuing the work begun in the historic premises, the Bioenergy Factory carries forward its mission as a research centre pioneering anaerobic digestion to make biological resource management more efficient and sustainable.
With its biochemical lab, pilot plants, and expert team, the centre promotes innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
